Assistive Technologies

Assistive listening devices are used to make sounds, such as a presentation given by a speaker, easier to hear for patrons who are hard-of-hearing.

Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT) - induction loop systems (systems which broadcast sound into T-Coil enabled hearing aids) are available at the library desk at all branch locations.

The Walnut Creek Library  also has two conference rooms (Oak View and Las Trampas) outfitted with HAT technology. They also have assistive listening systems (FM receivers which broadcast sound directly into a device which you can use with headphones) available for in-library use. Ask library staff to use or for more information.
