All homebound patrons who are unable to go to a library on their own, regardless of their disability, will be matched with a volunteer who will deliver and pick up for return, books and audio books from the Library. In addition, through this program our staff can facilitate the delivery of Talking Books from the California State Library Braille and Talking Book Library to individuals who are home- or institution-bound, and residing within the Contra Costa County Library service area. We serve all homebound patrons, regardless of their disability, if they are unable to go to the library on their own, provided we have a volunteer available.
To register for this service, or for more information, please complete this form or contact us toll free at 800-984-4636. The “Books for the Homebound” service is provided free of charge.
This free service is provided to Contra Costa County Library cardholders living in Rossmoor by the Walnut Creek Library and Rossmoor community volunteers. Learn more about the service here; call or visit the Walnut Creek Library, or visit the Rossmoor Computer Club's office in Gateway.
The Braille and Talking Book Library lends braille, cassette, and talking books, magazines and playback equipment to northern Californians unable to read conventional print. To use this service, you must register with the California State Library. Download the application form from their website or visit any Contra Costa County Library location to obtain the application. Search the contents of their collection.
